Organ Imaging
Ultrasound has been a popular medical imaging technique for many years. The technique uses sound waves to study and treat hard-to-reach body areas. Ultrasound is noninvasive, involves no radiation and avoids the possible hazards—such as bleeding, infection or reactions to chemicals—of other diagnostic methods.
The most common areas ultrasound is used for include:
- • Abdomen and pelvis
• Gynecology
• Breast
• Vascular
• Musculoskeletal
• Ultrasound guided intervention
