A Girlfriend’s Guide to Women’s Health
April 8, 2009
GOSHEN, Ind. – Learn how to turn Girl Talk into Girl Power at The Retreat Women’s Health Center Saturday Morning Retreat on April 18 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at The Retreat, 1135 Professional Drive.
Leading the morning discussion, Nurse Practitioner Kathy Meier of Team:Bariatrics will focus on the importance of female friendships and support systems as women face life’s many changes – from health risks that vary as women age, to the changes women experience with menopause. Wrapping up the discussion, Gaye Yoder, MSPT, will discuss pelvic floor health and incontinence issues.
“Girlfriends can be your best allies,” said Laurie Busby, RN, Executive Director of The Retreat. “Having a great support system in place helps women face life changes head on. Women can encourage one another to stay active and healthy – and they can do it together.”
Rounding out the morning will be Kami Heckaman from Menno travel, providing information on great tips for planning getaways and traveling with your girlfriends.
A $5 donation is requested to support HeartStrings Sisters, providing free screening mammograms to uninsured women. Seating is limited, so please call 574-537-5000 to reserve your seat.
